This codesystem contains the codes for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Electronic Cancer Protocols (eCPs). The College of American Pathologists (CAP) electronic Cancer Protocols enable pathologists to use the CAP Cancer Protocols directly within their laboratory information system (AP-LIS) workflow and to ensure that each report is completed with the necessary required elements. Most anatomic pathology AP-LIS vendors offer a CAP electronic Cancer Protocols synoptic module for reporting on surgical cancer resections and selected biopsies. For the most up to date codes they can be pulled directly from the eCPs.
